Uwe Balasus-Lange has many years of experience in the E & P industry (Exploration & Production). His main focus in Business Consulting is on field development activities, drilling operations and reservoir engineering. This includes in particular brown-field developments, operating cost optimization and digitization of production processes. Even when the age of decarbonization has begun, fossil fuels will still play an important role for a (short) transition period.

In the area of deep geothermal energy (> 1500 m), the  UBL Energie GmbH offers advice on national and international projects for both petrothermal and hydrothermal heat generation. This includes coaxial geothermal boreholes (Borehole Heat Exchanger), borehole duplicates (Injector/Producer) and borehole clusters. The implementation of local/national projects (Northern Germany) is carried out by NDEWG GmbH, in which UBL Energie GmbH is a shareholder with 25 %. International projects are with UBL Energie GmbH (i.e. Mexico).

Geothermal energy - the sleeping giant

99% of our planet earth are warmer than 1000°C and 99.9% are warmer than 100°C. Using this inexhaustible resource is an important part of this endeavor. The average geothermal depth gradient is approx. 3°C/100m; That means at a depth of 1000m it is approx. 30°C warmer than at the surface (10°C) and at 3000m the temperature is already above 90°C. Geothermal Energy offers opportunities to lift the renewable energy supply on a base-load capable pillar.
